They're at it once again
The screaming and yelling goes
on
I can't rest or sleep
When will the violence be done
Daddy comes home from work
Mommy is gone once again
She drags in at 4 or 5 a.m.
Daddy screams, Where have you
been?
Mommy has a bad smell
She can't even walk straight
The arguing goes on for hours
Is this to be my fate?
I do not understand all this
I huddle under my blankie and
cry
I'm so afraid Mommy won't come
home
I try to sleep, I really try
Daddy says, Mommy needs help
She says, I don't have a
problem
I'm not very happy anymore
Peace and quiet, I sure need
some
Mommy used to help me say my
prayers
That was before she started to
drink
Daddy's real worried, He says,
Mommy's teetering on the brink
Mommy needs to ask for help
Daddy says she needs to hit
bottom
I do not know what that means
All I know is I feel real numb
I want my Mommy back
The one I used to know
The one who played with me
Dear God, Where did she go?
Please Mommy, Please come back
I need you to hug & kiss me
I want to feel what we once
had
I want us to be a real family
Get help mommy, We love you
We can only wait so long
God will help you, if you ask
Come back to us where you
belong
