"Dede's Walk With God"

A Single Rosebud

For Many years
They'd been wed
Not a harsh word
Was ever said

Their love was rare
One of a kind
The kind of love
That's so hard to find

They were always together
Almost twenty four-seven
Some said, their marriage
Was truly made in heaven

Roses, he gave her
Whenever he could
But money got tight
And she understood

Love comes from the heart
So, he wrote her a note
Expressing his love
This was his quote:

I'll love you forever
My Darling wife
You were my world
The joy of my life

He rolled the note up
And tied it with a bow
To the stem of a single rosebud
Then, the tears began to flow

She was gone now
In her casket she lay
He felt so lost and alone
This was their final day

He put the rosebud
In her soft white hand
He kissed her lips
This was more than he could stand

His grief was too  much
He felt there was nothing left in life
He's no longer alone
He's in heaven with his wife

Upon his grave
 A single rosebud was placed
Where it came from
Could never be traced
