Deprivation
Do you know the feeling
of being deprived?
Many children we care for
would rather not be alive.
Have you ever went for
days without a meal?
Can you imagine how their
little tummies must feel?
How long have you went
without taking a bath?
May children have to
live this awful path.
Do you get to brush
your teeth every day?
Many children have never
seen a tooth brush,
lots of decay.
We're talking the bare
necessities of life here.
Some children never see them
They live daily in fear.
Many wonder where their
next meal will come from.
If it comes at all, will there be
enough for all or just some?
Have you ever had to panhandle
for money for food?
Some poor families do
just to feed their brood.
Children have told us stories
How they've begged on streets,
all day from dawn to dusk
to get enough money for a treat.
That was their daily meal.
What will they eat tomorrow?
Can you find it in your heart
to help stop this sorrow?
There are millions of children
who go to bed hungry.
Can you find it in your heart
to send them some money?

This poem is dedicated to all the children
in the world that have had to go hungry.
I know what this feels like personally and
we have been foster parents for 28 yrs. now
and we hear the little ones tell what it's
like.
Please help if you can!
This is a wonderful organization. We have
checked it out and we belong to it.
