"Now there was a man of the Pharisees
named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling
council. He came to Jesus at night and said,
'Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come
from God. For no one could perform the
miraculous signs you are doing if God were not
with him.' In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you
the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God
unless he is born again.' 'How can a man be born
when he is old?' Nicodemus asked. 'Surely he
cannot enter a second time into his mother's
womb to be born!' Jesus answered, 'I tell you
the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh
gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth
to spirit. You should not be surprised at my
saying, 'You must be born again.'" John
3:1-7
Your spouse must be born again. They must be
saved and turn from the world of darkness to our
Lord Jesus Christ who is the Light of the world.
You and I must want every one of our family,
extended family and friends to have eternal life
to live in Heaven versus Hell. They must be born
again! That is what Jesus Christ said, so you
and I must believe it.
Have you personally made that commitment? If
not, do it today. All
you must do is confess your sins, repent and ask
the Lord to cleanse
you from all your sins. He will then touch and
change your heart of stone to a heart of flesh.
"That
if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,'
and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved. For it is with your heart
that you believe and
are justified, and it is with your mouth that
you confess and are
saved." Romans 10:9-10
I
love the weekends, as I believe that the Lord
works the most in
people's heart during the weekend. Weekends are
time when you have time to slow down, relax and
think about you, your life, and your future. It
is time when you think about the past or about
your present circumstances. This is the time
when the Holy Spirit has opportunity to speak to
your spouse and convict many men, women, and
teens around the world to make changes in their
life. These men and women are of all ages from
being young to being grandparents who have
allowed their minds to dream and wander from
God's will and way in their life to thinking of
evil desires and temptations of the world.
In
the Bible we read that we are to flee from the
evil one as we pray
for the Lord to protect us from the enemy. If
you do not have a personal and strong
relationship with your Lord Jesus Christ, you
may fall into a trap from the evil one. Every
day pray for your spouse to listen to the Lord's
voice as Paul did on the Damascus Road.
"For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life. For God
did not send his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through
him. Whoever believes
in him is not condemned, but whoever does not
believe stands
condemned already because he has not believed in
the name of God's one
and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has
come into the world,
but men loved darkness instead of light because
their deeds were evil. Everyone who does
evil hates the light,
and will not come into the light for fear that
his deeds will be
exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes
into the light, so
that it may be seen plainly that what he has
done has been done
through God." John 3:16-21
I
pray that this week you have understood the
importance in praying
for your spouse. It takes commitment,
perseverance and
tenacity as you are in a spiritual battle for
your spouse and
marriage. Never forget that your Lord has given
each of us all that we
need as Jesus Christ alone is "The way and
the truth and the
life." (John 14:6)
As
you pray for your marriage and spouse this
weekend, may you continue to seek your Lord to
grow in the Lord as never before. Ask the Holy
Spirit to give you wisdom, knowledge, insight,
and understanding as to how you are to pray and
live each day for the Lord and for your family.
Strive each week to develop the qualities that
the Lord wants you to have as you grow and
mature in the Lord. We must be radiating the
godly examples for our children and
grandchildren. May you meditate on this
scripture below to seek and grow in the Lord:
"Grace
and peace be yours in abundance through the
knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His
divine power has given us everything we need for
life and godliness through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and goodness.
Through these he has given us his very great and
precious promises, so that through them you may
participate in the divine nature and escape the
corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason, make every effort to add
to your faith goodness; and to goodness,
knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and
to self-control, perseverance; and to
perseverance, godliness; and to godliness,
brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness,
love. For if you possess these qualities in
increasing measure, they will keep you from
being ineffective and unproductive in your
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if
anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and
blind, and has forgotten that he has been
cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my
brothers, be all the more eager to make your
calling and election sure. For if you do these
things, you will never fall, and you will
receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2
Peter 1:2-11
Do
you and I not want a rich welcome when we get to
Heaven? May you and I have a new urgency to
continue to pray for your spouse and all
prodigals who are today denying their Lord
Jesus. Today pray for a mighty harvest this
weekend around the world in churches and
wherever our Lord wants to talk to His lost
sheep. May the Men of God preach and teach the
powerful Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as
God's Word will never return void. Today as I
have taught this week, pray this scripture for
all the men of God this weekend. You must be
born again for eternal life.
"...I give you his charge: Preach the Word;
be prepared in season
and out of season; correct, rebuke and
encourage--with great
patience and careful instruction." 2 Timothy
4:1-2
