All I Have
To Offer
by Jerry
Morris
A group of Christians
visited Russia and stopped by an orphanage
just outside a major city.They weren't
prepared for what they were about to see, and
when they opened the door to a dark
cold room they saw over one hundred children
of all ages. Some of the abused, hurt and some
very ill, basically tossed away by society.
Some of the Christian
mothers sat down and began reading the
Christmas story to them and how the
Savior was born on Christmas Day in a cold
manger. The children sat there with their eyes
all aglow for they had never heard about Jesus
before, or Christmas.
At the end of the
story they were given presents of crayons and
paper and the little tykes started drawing
pictures of Baby Jesus in the crib. Well, the
group looked at all the pictures. They were
precious. At the same time noticed a little
boy sitting over in the corner
by himself. They walked over to see what the
little boy had drawn, and to their amazement
there were two babies in the crib.
Puzzled, one of them
asked the little boy, "Why is there two babies
in the crib?" The little boy looked up at them
with tears streaming down his face, smiled and
said, "This is Baby Jesus and this is me, and
I am keeping Him warm."
I have no gift to
offer, I don't have diamonds or gold. All I
have is myself to give you. Baby Jesus, I'll
keep You warm.
Throughout the world,
the innocence of children unbiased is truly
amazing, and their wisdom some of us don't
truly recognize. How they can reach through
the language barrier and realize that someone
really loves them, and find out that God and
Jesus will never leave them, they will always
be there.
I have no gifts to
offer. I don't have diamonds or gold. All I
have is myself to give You. Baby Jesus, I'll
keep You warm.
This is
Jerry Morris' newest Christmas song.
